The trails span a total of 2 miles, allowing you to see the rainforest from up high!
You will be then be driven to the impressive La Fortuna Waterfall. At the entrance there are bathrooms and changing rooms where you can put on your swimming gear in case you want to cool off in the river near the waterfall. Note there are 300 steps to get to the down to the waterfall, and 300 to get back up! You will have some time to enjoy the waterfall and take photos and relax in the river before heading off to a local restaurant 'soda' where you will enjoy a delicious typical Costa Rican lunch.
After a leisurely lunch you will be driven to the entrance of the Arenal National Park. Here you will enjoy a slow paced walk with you nature guide to learn about the history of this fascinating Volcano. The Arenal National National Park is one of the most visited parks in all of Central America. Your naturalist guide will point out different species of animal and plants and teach you about Costa Rica’s nature, culture and history, including information about the volcanic explosion of 1968! This area was devastated by the lava flow and has since re-grown into a lush forest with great biodiversity.
