A great tour of Tortuguero in two or three days. Just enough time to see the highlights! Tortuguero is not just a destination to see turtles but a wonderful location to see all wildlife along the quiet canals of the area.

Early 6..0am start with a pick up from your hotel. The driver will be with a naturalist guide, and be able to answer any questions you have along the way. The first part of the journey is from San Jose to Limon (or similar boat point), crossing the stunning Braulio Carrillo National Park. Around 8:00, there will be a stop for a traditional breakfast. The trip continues to the boat dock, passing massive banana plantations.
Around 11:00 the boat will be waiting to take you for 1.5 -2 hour ride to your hotel, traveling through the canals and La Suerte river.. A welcome cocktail will be waiting for you on arrival at your tropical paradise lodge! The guide will show you around and give you a chance to rest.
After lunch, you will be taken by boat to Tortuguero town and a chance to visit the Turtle Conservation Center. When you get back to the lodge, you can enjoy the frog garden, the botanical garden, the pool, bars and the different areas of the hotel or a walk along the Caribbean beach.
During turtle season you can also witness the green turtle spawning (June to October). But even out of turtle season it is worth visiting Tortuguero for its unique abundance of wildlife.
Special dawn tour to see the animals waking up and the birds singing first thing in the morning!! 5.30am morning tour of the Tortuguero National Park (note the entrance fee is not included and must be paid in cash directly to the park, $15pp). Your breakfast will be waiting for you on your return!
After breakfast, you will head back to San Jose by boat, getting back to the dock in Limon (or nearby) around 11:00am where your transport will be waiting. Lunch will be provided on the way back. You will get back to San Jose hotels approx 3.30pm.
