This elegantly restored Victorian style mansion is just one block away from The National Museum of Costa Rica, The Costa Rican House of Congress and The Plaza de la Democracia. The hotel's multi national owners have put a great deal of care into each of the 30 individually decorated rooms.

Pre-Colombian artifacts, original artwork, and fresh cut flowers can be seen throughout all the hotels common areas. Terraced balconies, a humming fountain, and sun filled skylights above a bridge connecting the older part of the hotel to the new wing, create an atmosphere of tranquility for escaping the city outside.

Each room is named after one of the many flowers found in Costa Rica. All rooms offer original paintings, brightly colored walls and tasteful furniture. The bathrooms situated in the older hotel wing have large bathtubs, while the rooms in the newer wing often contain Jacuzzis with views of the mountains that encircle the city. All rooms contain a refrigerator, mini bar, cable television and hair dryers.
The owners Daniel and Charlotte Cheziere are a European couple; Daniel is from France and Charlotte is from Switzerland. Their friendly son Frank, also hotel manager, speaks quite a few languages including French, German, Italian, English and Spanish!
The hotel's intimate restaurant 'Obelisco' is well known for its international cuisine and is open for dinner. They serve complimentary tropical breakfast to guests starting every morning at 6:00am. The cosmopolitan bar is a great place for sharing special romantic evenings as well as meeting Costa Rican and International travelers. Every Tuesday and Friday night, guests can enjoy happy hour from 5pm to 7pm.
The hotel offers the following rooms:
Master Suites - Comprised of two rooms, bedroom with a large king bed and a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi hot tub and a second room with mini fridge and seating area. Some master suites also have balconies with mountain views.
Junior Suites - Close second to the Master Suites with a smaller seating area. A Compact Disc player has local music to groove to, or bring your own.
Standard Rooms - These rooms vary, all uniquely decorated. Some are newer than others. The older rooms all have large bathtubs, the newer ones with standup showers. Views from these rooms do tend to vary with the more recently built rooms having the better of the two. All have original artwork, telephones and hair dryers.
The suites come highly recommended. While the rooms in the older wing of the hotel are still nice, and have large bathtubs, mini bar phones and hair dryers, opt for the newer rooms if given the choice.
