The Hotel Finca Valverde is a little piece of the rainforest hidden in the heart of Santa Elena. Situated on a former farm the hotel has the best of both worlds being in the forest and yet a stone's throw from the Serpentarium (snake museum) and amenities in the small village of Santa Elena. The hotel is owned by the Valverde family, and part of Valverde farm which still harvests coffee for export, as well as some of the vegetables served in the hotel restaurant.

Most of the former coffee and banana plantation has been almost completely reforested and it is wild enough to house many species of Monteverde bird life, including blue-crowned Mot-Mot's, Hummingbirds, Baltimore Orioles and Emerald Toucanettes. The lush setting provides the jungle feel without putting a great distance from you and all the conveniences and services of Santa Elena.

   The Finca Valverde hotel reception is located in an interesting building of Monteverde. The office is set upon a small stream, with two short suspension bridges above the beautiful streambed connecting one of the main buildings of rooms to the reception building, which also houses the restaurant.

   Hotel Finca Valverde has rooms that are comfortable and have a natural feel; wooden cabins and quilted bedspreads create a peaceful, cozy atmosphere with porches overlooking the forest. Rooms have all the comforts of a high-end hotel for a reasonable price, including bathrooms with large bathtubs.

There are 20 rooms in total

8 Standard Cabins with two double beds (one downstairs and one in the sleeping loft), telephone, bathtub and shower and balcony

8 Standard Cabins with one double bed and 1 single, telephone, bathtub and shower and balcony

2 Superior Private Cabinas - these are nicer with one double bed plus two singles, telephone, bathtub and shower, minibar, coffee maker and private balcony.

2 Superior Private Cabinas - these are nicer with one double bed and 1 single on the ground floor and one double in the loft, , telephone, bathtub and shower, minibar, coffee maker and private balcony.

Finca Valverde has a large restaurant with an international menu and a bar area tastefully decorated with natural wood.
